  • Exhausted...

    I finally got almost everything together for our big book party/art gallery tomorrow. I'm so pooped. Let me tell you, soooo many things went wrong while I was getting things together, that there were plenty of times that I wanted to give up. These shoots were really tough to pull. I did them all with my remote which was not easy considering the situations I was sticking myself into.

    It's like extreme self-portraiture. I was gagging, choking, pretty much almost vomiting, almost caught my shirt on fire, and just basically beating myself up for these photos. These are pictures that I had been wanting to draw/paint, but I decided to actually feel what I was going for and threw myself into these abusive situations. Oh man...and at the same time I had to suck it up and check my camera from time to time to realize that composition or lighting was off at the wrong times and start all over.

    Then, I realized after I cropped and saved the images that my dimensions were the size wrong for print, I already bought the frames, AND I didn't save finished un-cropped images. (This is what happens when you do things at the last minute while you're boozing to cope with the stress...not health or smart...sigh) So I had to spend extra time placing the finished photos back onto the original un-cropped ones and re-crop them to the right size. CHEESES!

    While I was in the middle of framing my photos, I realized that one of the frames I got from Aaron Brothers was severely cracked, so I had to go to Marina Del Rey to return it and get another one. When I finally got down to the last frame, I couldn't find the mounting hardware, so I'll have to wake up early and freaking go back to Aaron brothers for 4 little screws and 2 mounting hooks... I bet I'll find it Sunday, and regretfully shove it in my junk drawer.

    It's these little things that are just driving me bananas. I don't know how many times I 'lost' the remote for my camera during very crucial moments of shooting. I'm so glad I'm pretty much done though. I've been working my ass off for 2 weeks straight. All I have to do now is finish that 1 frame, stock up on some booze for the party, help organize the gallery/party space, and look hot for tomorrow night. WOOH!! One thing I do know how to do is partttay!!! Lots of my girls that I love and miss will be there, so I'm pretty excited. Almost all the Living Dolls will be there, with the exception of Lina and Sphinx. Guess I better hit the sack.
