So I received the first awesome entry to my contest and finally got around to taking photos of some of the prizes. I think I'll just continue to update this entry with contestants as I receive them.... I'm going to TRY to keep my commentary to a minimum at this point. ( Although I'm super ecstatic with what I'm seeing so far!) =D

The prize list will continue to grow until the contest ends!

  • Dethklok at the Palladium

If you don't know what's up with Dethklok from the Adultswim show Metalocalypse, you better ax somebody. Well, I went to the concert last night with my sister and we had lots of fun. Mastadon performed before Dethklok. This is gonna be a short entry, just thought I'd throw it up right away since I got the photos uploaded.

Right when we get out of the car a young f*ck looks at us and says, "mastadonnnnn" and does some hand motion.... "WHAT THE F*CK DID YOU JUST CALL ME?!" lol. and that was the start of the evening full of regrets. haha. no regrets really.

Get into the Palladium and they have a special combo, a beer and a shot of jager for $14. My friend gets the beer, I get the shot of jager and a Belvedere monster, like the good ol' days.
^Me n the sis. I didn't dress that cute. I basically gave myself only a few minutes to get dressed so I spent a majority of that time doing my eye makeup. lol. My sister represented though.
^dethklok videogame in the bg. Um, I'm so wrong for this. haha.
    ^junk in the trunk. lol.

^right before the mosh pit started getting moshy. Dude, I never knew how fun it would be. I really enjoyed getting all rambunctious in the bitch. There's an art to it. Once I got into the flow I felt invincible! It really gets you pumped.

    Guess that's all.

Last weekend I was in SF. Stayed at the Ritz on the club level. I'll post about it when I have more time. xoxo

  • Personal Update and the SF APE

My ankle is still fucked, thanks to my negligence and I'm really paying for it. I work for myself, so I have no paid vacations. I canceled many jobs over the past few weeks and I'm basically dipping into my savings which really bothers me and is pretty much feeding my growing depression along with having to really stay force myself to stay in bed this week. Oh and being that time of month really doesn't help. I feel like a mess. You really think a lot when your trapped at home and lately I've been thinking my brain has a mind of it's own. I haven't been focusing my thoughts and energy on anything too productive, which sucks. I can't even force myself to work on anything that needs to be done. At times I feel like a zombie, at other times I feel like a lunatic. The funk I'm in is terrible, but I think after this week, if I'm well enough to get back to my old business, I'll be fine.

I don't think I was giving myself a chance to heal. I'm not the type of person who can just take it easy and go about my day at a slower pace. It's all or nothing for me. I have a high tolerance for pain, so if I'm working or walking, I really don't feel how bad I'm beating myself up till I get home and look at how swollen and fucked my ankle is from all the stress I've put it through. It's actually hard for me to believe how badly I injured myself. Makes me feel like a real jackass. So I'm pretty much forcing myself to keep off the damn thing this whole week which is painful because I feel like a prisoner in my own home. It's for the better. My ankle is actually doing much better, but my brain-not so much.

Anyways, I'm not really doing that terribly. Life has it's ups and downs, and while my downs are pretty low, I have to admit life could be a lot worse. I'm blessed in many ways, so I'll just move on and write about the SF APE.
So my trip last weekend to SF was crazy like always. My sister and I have pretty much made it a tradition to kill two birds whenever we go to the San Francisco Alternative Press Expo. We work the APE by day, then party in seedy spots by night. This trip was no exception. Here's a brief summary of what happened, since I really don't feel like writing much lately.

Saturday-Arrived in the morning with 2 hours of sleep. Got dressed and headed to the APE. Our hotel was in a little Vietnamese area so we were able to get Lee's Sandwiches. I usually get the grilled pork sandwich which is always better than the BBQ pork in my opinion. The Lee's Sandwich in SF is much better than the one's I've gotten in the OC. They give you way more meat and it's the same price. After the APE, we got some Shabu Shabu and drank sake. When we were walking to the car I saw one the most phallic restaurant signs (yeah big surprise as we were in SF of all places) and decided we had to take some photos.

    ^oh yeah!

^She had the angle down perfect. Looks like she's also crapping and wearing a funny hat. Classic!
    ^popcorn face. (inside joke)
    ^and of course...Blaine and Antoine.

Seriously, how many penises do you see? Reminds me of the original cover art for The Little Mermaid. Pride...damn skippy.

Afterward we headed to a tranny club called Divas. Eh, definitely not the best looking trannies we've seen. A bunch of strange things happened, and things ended when Blaine almost got into a fight with some overweight Latina tranny in the bathroom. haha. End of that evening. Btw, I forgot my cane when I went to SF and this is when my ankle started getting really bad again. Before I hit the sack it was basically as swollen as it was when I first sprained it a few weeks ago. Fucking dumb of me.

Sunday. Went to the APE. I walked around and bought a bunch of cute random things including this hilarious thong with a penis drawn on it. (shit can't find the photo of it, but it's great) APE is really cool when it comes to finding unique art, tshirts, books etc. You won't find many people rocking what you nab at the APE which is nice.

    ^Our booth
    ^Another dick?!

    ^The habitual line stepper.

Afterward, we invited some of our new APE friends and fellow artists to come out with us for some sake and sushi.
^Don't mess with this gimp and her posse. Side note- Andrew (asian dude with the long hair) has some really cute pieces that I always buy when I go to the APE. You can check out some of his stuff at his site. Stitchmind.com . He also sells cute tshirts, but I didn't see them on his webpage. I told him he should get some of his stuff into HotTopic. I think kids would love his shit.
^SF has the weirdest window displays.

We headed to a liquor store, bought a bottle of rum, then went to our room and talked and laughed till it was time for me to head home.

    That's all. xo

  • Breast Cancer Awareness...Join Wuzzy's Pink Giveaway Contest!

Breast cancer. It sucks, right. Well, just because it sucks, doesn't mean we should ignore it. That's why I think it's awesome that Wuzzy is throwing an awesome Pink Giveaway contest to help promote breast cancer awareness. She's making it really easy to join, so I hope all of you give it a try and spread the word! All you have to do is relist a link that she's already provided or one that you've found on your own that helps promote breast cancer awareness. If you're too lazy to do that then, maybe you should shove your head in a microwave because it's apparent that you've given up on life...I'm totally joking.... but seriously folks, spread the word. It'll make you feel better about yourself. =)The links she's provided are actually cool. Check out Wuzzy's contest to see her list. I'm going to add my own link since it hasn't been listed yet. Here it is... The Pink Ped Egg. $50,000 will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. It makes your feet feel as smooth as eggs. -That should be there  slogan because it's true and it sounds cool.Hmmm, I actually added 2 links and I didn't even break a sweat. =)I also did a little breast cancer awareness look, since I've always believed in extra credit. Hope you all have a great weekend! =)

  • Long Beach Comic Con Day 3

    I was Freddy Krueger.
^ I was actually planning on doing some latex special effects makeup, but I woke up 2 hrs late, so I ended up doing this quick look and just rushing to the comic con.

^This photo cracks me up the more I look at it. Look at the adorable baby posing like us. lol!

^His balls should be very afraid.

    Guess that's all. xo
  • Long Beach Comic Con Days 1 and 2

So Long Beach Comic Con has past. It was the first Long Beach Comic Convention, so it was pretty small. Also it was during the weekend of the Adult Con which was bad planning in  my opinion. Porn and comics go hand in hand. It's all fantasy, right?

Anyways, I have to say I'm pretty glad it wasn't big and crazy like SDCC because I was hobbling around with my cast and cane. It was a real pain. I was doped up on Vicodin because honestly, I was being a real dumbass when I convinced the dr to give me a cane instead of crutches. Oh man. I think things would have been much easier with crutches, but I was being vain at the hospital, and I sure paid the price.

We didn't sell much. There really weren't many people to sell stuff too, but we did get to network and meet some cool and interesting vendors and artists. We were able to speak more with individual fans, which is nearly impossible to do at the crazy packed San Diego Comic Con.

Well, here are some photos of days 1 and 2.

Day 1^Posing With my cane. Tried my best to cover the ugly ass aircast. I wonder why they don't make them in black?^Vest- Lip Service. Leggings-LVLX. Silver top-LVLX. Gloves- Busy B Hollywood. Cool stash Boot-From Amsterdam I always get that clump of strands that just wants to fall out of place. Sorta like Elvis. For makeup I used some of the items that will be given away for my contest. The contest items are unopened. I ordered stuff for myself when I ordered contest items. =P
Eyes:Mac Grease Paint stick- Black,  Mac Pigment- sweet sienna,  Mac Eyeshadow-black tied, Urban Decay eyeshadow-Vapor
Lips:Mac Mattene Lipstick, OCC lip tar-Feathered, Mac Glimmerglass-Bling Black
^At our boothThere wasn't much cosplay,  but there was live wrestling!
    Day 2I was Mario!
^Clean look for Mario. Just more shimmer to give me that cartoon like glow and thicker, higher arched brows.Didn't forget the 'stache. just decided to add it later in the day.
Costume- I got the Mario hat and mustache from Hot Topic. I made the skimpy overalls from a pair of cheap stretchy skinny jeans. The upper half of one leg was for the front panel, lower half for the back panel. The other leg was used for the straps. Pretty much hand sewed everything again since I haven't got around to buying a new sewing machine. Btw, I sprained my ankle while shopping for the stupid buttons for the overalls. The top was actually two old tops that I put together one from papaya and the other from some other cheap clothing shop. White Gloves from Busy B, Hollywood.

^The beautiful Mika, Ms. March the Night Elf Came down to sign with me. =) Isn't she adorable. I fuckin love her new hairstyle. She looks like a pretty pixie.^The guy on the  right- if Tom Cruise made it with Ben Stiller. haha^Cam whoring.  Yeah this pose hurt, but it was worth it. haha.^haha. I look like such a pervert with the mustache.^Pshoo pshoo errbody's go'n die. -Kevin Hart^haha. I had my leg up higher but I guess the camera was too slow.^That's how I roll, Mario.

=) I'll post day 3 when I feel like going all the way down stairs to find my camera.

  • Sprained ankle contest prize update

So I was shopping for a few buttons to add to one of my costumes for the Long Beach Comic Con, which is tomorrow-sunday. I step out of the fucking fabric store, didn't realize there was a step and I totally stumbled and crashed down on my ankle all weird. I took 3 mores steps and realized that the pain was so bad I was beginning to feel nauseous.Great, I was already behind on making one of my costumes, now I have to go to the fucking hospital to get this shit checked out.

You know your fucked when all the workers in the ER take one glance at your shit, wince, shake their heads and say ouch. Thank God there were no fractures, but I sprained it pretty bad. I was so pissed. It just had to be the worst timing ever. So now, my Friday costume is out of the question. ( can't rock super tall heels) I'm glad that this con, my other costumes can be worn with flats. I had to talk my Dr into giving me a cane instead of crutches. I told her I was going to be working the comic con and crutches are just a bit much. She was actually cool and told me she was a big fan of comic book guy from the Simpson's, and when I told her what I was going to be dressed as on Saturday she did a funny sound effect that the character makes... awesome female geek dr. =)^Notice the swelling on the right ankle. So fucked!Anyways, so I have this cane, and I'm not sure if I'm just gonna take off the air cast for the con or rock it all gangsta like. All I know is that right now I'm fuckin pissed. They gave me 2 vicodins in the ER so I'm feeling loopy, but I still have to finish sewing one of my costumes. Gah! Too bad I didn't plan on being a pimp. Then I could've just bedazzled my cane and just planned the outfits around the cane. =P Actually walking around with the cane isn't as cool as I thought it'd be. My arm gets all wobbly. I look and feel like an old lady, seriously- not hot.^The therapist comes out with this shoe, and I start laughing hysterically. I was just thinking of my friday costume as the sleek and sexy Sage...He probably thought I was crazy. I just kept laughing and telling him that I was in a living nightmare. He just smiled uneasily and strapped me in. I asked if the shoe was on the wrong foot, cuz it looks weird. He said, "they're universal." I replied, "Universally ugly," and I actually got a bit choked up. I mean the shoe combined with my jacked up nails( I was so about to get a pedicure) the site was so ugly I seriously almost  cried. haha.

On top of all that, I had to cancel a shoot I had for today, and I have a shoot on monday with 2 other models. I'm not sure if I'll be well enough by then, but we'll see. This really blows. Sigh...It's strange, I was doing so much lately that I was thinking something was going to have force me to slow down. Gah.

On the brighter side of things...my contest. I know you folks still have lots of time, but I just wanted to add that anyone can dress up as more than one character if they'd like. Each costume will count as an individual entry. Any one person can get 2 prizes. Hey, if someone wants to put in that much more effort, then they should go for it. You don't gain extra points for having more than one entry. Like I said, each character will be judged individually. You can enter the look your wore for halloween or looks that you've done for tutorials, as long as the looks were done AFTER the contest started.I just got some of the prizes that I ordered in the mail. So far I have

I also have lots of other accessories and fun stuff  for the contest. I think I just keep buying more stuff for the contest every time I go shopping. =) I would really like to get an idea of who might want to join the contest, I know it's early, but I'm actually quite excited about it. =) Okay, maybe it's the Vicodin talking. Actually, it's a dope ass contest, and I want people to have fun with it. Don't forget, there is a secret GRAND PRIZE, and I promise it's going to be SIKK!I'll add photos of the prizes when I have time. Some things are hard to describe. I guess that's all. If anyone is going to the LBCC, be sure to stop by my booth and say , Howdy.xoxo

  • CONTEST! Put on your thinking caps, folks!

To celebrate the release of my FanVixens calendar, I'm going to have my very first blogger contest. The calendar is themed with a variety of characters. So, I want you to dress up as ANY EXISTING CHARACTER that you like. I mean ANY CHARACTER. As long as the character existed at some point in books, tv, movies, video games, etc. it's acceptable. I want to see makeup, costumes, and a bit of a back story...

    How to Enter
To enter the contest you must....

    • Dress up as a character. This can be based on ANY comic book, sci-fi, cartoon, video game, horror, fairy tale, sitcom character that ALREADY exists. Don't be afraid to go obscure. What characters did you grow up loving? If yo need ideas don't be afraid to ask! You can look at some of my comic con images for some inspiration. Google your favorite characters. Go through your closet and see what you have to work with. You can even use your Halloween costume as an entry. You have till freakin' NOVEMBER 6TH 2009 to figure it out!!!
    • Post your entry on your own blog.
    • Post 3-5 images of your entry. Try to pose like your character. Full body, and head shots. Also if possible, a picture of the original character that you are emulating.
    • Comment me via this entry so I can know that you're a contestant.
    • Don't forget to give me the name of your character.
    • Be a follower of my blogspot profile (choke-a-bitch.blogspot.com)  Actually this step is not a necessity, but it will help.
    • Extra points. A short story of you as your character. I'm very into photo stories. So a simple 1-3 sentences/lines for each image you send will work. You can be poetic, artistic, or straight forward. It's up to you. Anything goes. I'm just looking for effort. You can describe each photo with 1-2 words if that works for you. Just follow your whims and may the best gal/guy win!

Now for the meat and potatoes...PRIZES!

Over $500 in prizes will be given away for this contest! I will have 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place entries.
    These prizes will include:

    • a secret grand prize that anyone can enjoy! When I say anyone, I mean ANYONE. Think BIG people. This is my first contest and I like to be flamboyant when it comes to gifting.
    • a variety of OCC lip tars-some items from the Mac style black collection for fall 2009
    • some of my favorite Arcona skin care products
    • cute accessories
    • other items that I haven't thought of yet!!!

The list of prizes will grow if I have enough contestants, hell maybe I'll even have 4th or 5th place prizes.

    Judging...
In order to keep the ruling as unbiased and sincere as possible I will have 5 different judges of different character, sex, ethnicity, and lifestyle. Each judge will rate you on a scale from 0-20. Each individual score will be anonymous. Your rank will be a score of 0-100.

Judge 1- ME. I'm an artist/photographer. I have a sick sense of humor and I love irony. I'm particularly going to pay attention to your makeup, how much effort you put into your entry, and please be aware that I'm not a fan of bad photoshop jobs, so if you're thinking of using some cheesy filters on your work...I'm not going to like it. If it's tasteful and makes sense then go for it. Let your artistic juices flow, but don't blur your images beyond recognition. Also, I'm looking for fun characters. You don't have to be an exact image of a character. I want to see you as the character.

Judge 2- My older sister. I would describe her as a more goth, dramatic version of myself. She loves all things unusual and dark. She's also a UCLA English major with an emphasis on creative writing, so story will be important to her.

Judge 3- The gay male. He'll probably be the most critical. When it comes to him, you best bring it. He's looking for makeup skill, costume, ferocity, and breaking barriers. He's into theatrics and fashion.

Judge 4- The straight, refined business man. He's a suave, intelligent, and pays a lot of attention to detail. Skin might sway him a bit, but he's an intelligent guy. He knows good work when he sees it. He's no makeup guru and he may not be familiar with many characters, so he'll probably pay more attention to the whole picture/story that you put together.

Judge 5- The fanboy. He's into comic books, video games, hot chicks, and pizza. He'll pay more attention to how true you are to a character and he'll focus on creativity and the obscurity of a character. He may also be swayed by skin, but he'll be more impressed by a great costume and attention to detail.

Remember contest ends November 6, 2009. That's over a month from now, so there will be no excuse for late entries.

Woo, this is so exciting! Now don't be scurred people. I want you to have fun with it. xoxo

  • Long Beach Comic Con 10/2-4/2009

We will be having a booth at the 1st annual LBCC October 2-4. Come check us out. It should be fun. I wonder what I should dress up as? As much as I loved being Dr. Mrs. The Monarch, I just have so  many photos in that get-up. I have a few ideas running around in my head, but it's so soon. I wonder if I'll be able to pull some last minute costumes out of my ass like SDCC. =P

So I'll be there with inkpenmutations selling my 2010-2011 FanVixens calendar. I think I'll have a surprise model guest with me. We'll see. =)

Hmm... what else? Oh on Sunday I went to Sushi Roku in Hollywood and I must say it's way better than the one in Santa Monica. I didn't take any photos, but I thought I'd mention it in case anyone wanted to try Sushi Roku out for the first time.

After Sushi Roku I went to my lovely, Vima's loft warming party. She got a cute little spot downtown. The building is over 100 years old and has a nice view. =) It's funny because I was right in her area not too long ago serving jury duty. haha. God jury duty's a fucking nightmare! Glad I didn't have to serve over a day.Well, here's a quick pic I took with Vima before she leaving her party.^She's miss January kitty in the FanVixens calendar and she was also in my first book. =) Love this sexy lady.Oh and here's something that I found hilarious at petco the other day.^Haha. It doesn't show too well in the picture but that hamster is all painted up like a some cheap lady of the evening. Lots of rouge and what appears to be false lashes. haha. "Critter operated no horses necessary" haha. Seriously folks,  I wanna know how one  commissions a photo of a hamster all hooker-ed up like that. Um, could we get a hamster with sexy bedroom eyes, and make sure her cheeks are flushed pink to show that she's in heat. I guess everyone has to start somewhere in the business. That includes people and hamsters alike.=P

  • Ranila's 25th Bday

So my little sister had her 25th birthday 9-9-09. She had her party at the adorable Leon Lounge in Orange County. Her friend let her rent the place out for the even for free. Here are some photos. (click to enlarge)

^Me with the birthday girl. Yes, she wore a tiara for her bday. I wore a hairpiece made out of  genuine baby bald eagles. Now that's baller.^First shot of the evening.^Ugh it burns so good once it hits your mouth. haha. Not a big fan of Greygoose shots. I like Belvedere better when it's straight up.^Big sis arrived a bit later.^The sisters still bright eyed and sober.^2nd drink.^third drink. Aside from shots, I stuck with vodka redbulls I like to mix uppers and downers to give me that weird neutral feeling.^a bit more tipsy... She had an outfit change. It was funny because I saw the dress hanging in the bathroom and I thought it would've been hilarious to change into it real quick and wear it around the party until she noticed. It seemed funny in my mind, but I knew she probably would've cried or something. 10 years ago would've been another story. That's what big sisters are for right? haha.4th drink. Dude with the glasses painted on his shirt kept pouring me shots after this. oh man. People like challenging me to drink offs for some reason.^one of my loves showed up. She was the Nikki Doll from my first book.^I look evil here. =P^About to blow out her candles.  I think I was too drunk to remember this part.^A picture of her on the cake. This was from our first photo shoot. I told her she should have asked me to photoshop a tiara on her head for the cake. haha.^Some drunk dancing.^Final drink. I took a shot with my sister and lil cousin who I hadn't seen in years. This was like my 8th or 9th drink. I don't quite remember going home, and I felt so shitty the next day. I can't drink like I used to. My tolerance has gone down, since I don't drink as often. Plus, I'm just getting  plain old.Guess that's all for now.
